Namaskar! Welcome to Ruchkar Mejwani with Smita.
Oats are called as super food as it is high in protein, fiber and low in fats.
So, whenever you are on a diet, this is the best food to have.
But, usually we get bored of eating oats cooked in milk..
..that's why today I am going to show you a different and Indianized oats recipe.
So lets make Oats Upma.
Heat 2-3 tbs oil in a pan.
Next, add mustard seeds after the oil is hot enough.
Add, 3 green chillies.
Some curry leaves.
And 1 big onion which is finely chopped.
Lets fry the onions for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes soft.
Now, the onion has turned pink. Lets add 1 tbsp ginger paste.
Some sugar.
Salt.
Stir it well.
Let's squeeze a lemon in it.
I have taken 3 cups of oats here. I'll add it to the onion and stir it well.
Now, lets add 1-2 cup of water.
Cover it with a lid and allow it to cook.
Our upma will be ready within 5-7 minutes.
Our upma is ready! Letís remove it to a plate.
And sprinkle lots of chopped coriander leaves on it.
People who are health conscious and even those who are not..
..should definitely add this dish in their diet plan.
